Greetings, I have several UNIX PC's (3b1's to be exact) that are missing their floppy drives. I'm told that they take standard 360K floppies like you would get for a PC. I've tried several, [bought one New], and all failed. Yes, I reset it to DS0, but that only made the disk select light light up when it was accessed, the thing still would skip booting from the floppy and (if installed) go to the hard disk, which would again search the floppy and find nothing.. I know that the floppy (the boot disk) is good, I've used it on other machines both before and after testing. I can't see anything that is different from the Teac that works correctly. I' also told that you can get 800K from a standard 720K floppy, When I put in a 720K drive the system wouldn't boot till I inserted a floppy (and it got errors on it I presume, so it then went to the hard disk..) What do I need to do to make this work??? Thanks a million! Or at least a hundred thousand... -Chert -- Chert Pellett - chert@spdyne.lonestar.org || chert@dungeon.lonestar.org If space and time are relative, Why have they never come to any of my birthday parties?
