You forgot one of the short ones:
"Q", the group who did Dancin' Man in 1977. Q is the shortest name for
a group in the rock era.
"M" (aka Robin Scott) who did Pop Muzik in 1979 is the shortest name for
a single artist in the rock era.

How can you mention short band names without mentioning "X"? This band has been around a little while and has done admirable work. They are a L.A. based band with a female lead singer named "Exene" (I believe that is the correct spelling). The band reminds me of Berlin (I guess because of the female singer/L.A. connection). X is more rocking than Berlin. I have heard two songs that get radio play here (in Boston): "True Love, Part I", an interesting montage of a song, and a cover of the Trogs classic "Wild Thing". On "Wild Thing", Exene really sounds like Joan Jett. I was confused until the D.J set me straight. Seems that it confused everyone. Good band. I'd probably check them out if they came around.
