I understand that SVR3.x comes in two versions -- one for SCSI-based systems, and one for all other HD controllers. But I wonder if it has any particular video requirement. I.e., instead of buying the overpriced repackaged NEC monitor (is the 329D a NEC 2D?) and Paradise card, could I use say a monochrome monitor/Hercules card, or an Orchid Prodesigner II with 1MB RAM and a NEC 5D monitor? I just got a price on a 25MHz 386 without video but with 4 MB RAM and 135 MB ESDI HD -- almost $5400! I can buy a clone with a 30-60 day money-back guarantee and a year of on-site service for half that! <sigh> Thanks, Pete -- Prof. Peter J.
