A hearty thanks goes out to all who responded to my posting asking for help with a "Link has been severed" error. In case anyone is curious... PROBLEM: Large files ( > 10MB ) transferred via RFS between hosts will occasionally (about 25% of the time) terminate abnormally with only a partial transfer and the above stated error message. SOLUTION: This is apparently a BSD 4.2 bug that is fixed in the 3.2 version of TCP/IP for 3B2's. Thanks to Muphy's Law, we have 3.0. It is some kind of problem with sequence numbers wrapping around and tripping over the boundary. A special thanks goes out to John Sims at US West for pointing this out to me. (I've been trying to mail you for days now) Thank you very much Mr. Sims, we will be getiing TCP/IP 3.2 very soon. Mr. Tim C.
