Hi. I'm a veteran 3b1 owner who has been given the opportunity to get a 3b2/400. The rules are simple, just take what I want and make it work. I have access to the following cards: a) memory (I'm not sure how big, though) b) 8 port card (RJ-45 jack, it looks like) c) 4 port + centronix printer d) ethernet e) built-in tape and disk controllers f) 5260 (5620?) terminals - I believe these are BLIT type thingies. What I basically have is a "max config" question. What is the most that any one person can put in this thing? How much memory can she handle? Is there a limit on the number of disks/controllers? I realize that you need some sort of "magic disk" to format any standard drive, but is there a size limit (i.e. no more than 70Mb :-)? The built-in tape is supposed to be compatible with my 3b1 tape drive, but can it do QIC? Is there a reasonable max to the number of people online at one time? Am I limited by some number of 'slots' on the backplane (like an IBM-PC)? Simply put, I need a quick hardware education. Help! B-) Thanks to anyone who can give me a hand with this. I've never played with one of these before, and it looks like a fine challenge. j -- Jeffrey L.
