I have an AT&T 6300 PC PLUS. I need some information about upgrading it. In particular: -=- What memory upgrades are possible? I have backfilled to 640K on the motherboard (actually I have the full 1MB in there) but what: a) driver do I use? (I have an old AEMM.SYS file I found but it doesnt seem to work right). Can I get expanded/extended memory? b) can I expand the memory past the 1MB on the mother board? (I have a AT&T 512k/2mb memory board) but I cant seem to use it (the machine hardware recognizes it, but again I need a driver) -=- What video displays/cards will work? I have a video disabler chip from some company in California with minimal docs that says I can use any EGA or VGA card, but yet I havent been able to get true EGA to work. So far I have a old-fashioned IBM EGA card with 256K and a old-fashioned IBM 5154 monitor (the usual combo that came with an AT). It will work, but the EGA resolution is very messed up so clearly some memory addresses are wrong. No I want to upgrade to VGA. I have an ATI VGA Wondercard that supposedly should work. Does anybody out there have an AT&T PC still with a working VGA monitor/card working? SuperVGA? -=- Finally, any other need hacks. In particular, it has a hard disk (a 3-1/2") that is hacked inside tilted on its side and crammed in. It is only 20MB, I want more. Is it a MFM? I didnt know they made MFMs in 3-1/2? It doesnt look like a SCSI drive. If I want a replacement, what kind of drive will work? Again, do I need special drivers? If you have any other info on the PC and sources for help and/or supplies/peripherals for the AT&T PC 6300 PLUS I would be much appreciative. AT&T has been no help and most people I have talked to havent been much more helpful.
