binder@asd.dec.com (NOW willya gimme some fightin' room?) (11/20/86)

Sending this via comp.sys.apple in hopes it'll be gatewayed across to
info-apple - BRL.ARPA isn't accepting mail from the DEC Enet at present.

I've got the same version of AppleWriter ][, and a Viewmaster-80, and I had
the same problem. The only 80-column card that is automatically AW compatible
is the M&R Enterprises Sup'R'Term. Of the few other cards that will work with
AW at all, every one takes a preboot. I agree that $25.00 is a high price,
but I think it's worth it to get AW in 80 columns. My suggestion is to take
your lumps. Spend the bucks and buy the preboot - you'll be glad you did.
And be glad they told you about it - when I bought my Viewmaster, they told me
to buy the Videx preboot, which was also $25.00, and which is copy-protected.
I get the shakes when I have to buy protected software...

You can recoup half of your investment by buying the preboot and making me a
working copy of the disk and its documentation. I'll pay you $13.50 for it -
$12.50 for the program and $1.00 for the disk you put it on. It's PD, so you
won't violate anyone's copyrights, and you'll get half your money back.

Cheers,
