To connect a //c to a modem using RS232, you will need a 5 pin DIN plug, as well as a DB25 plug. The pinouts are as follows: DIN-5 DB25 (RS232) ---------------------------------------- 1 DTR 20 2 TXD 2 3 GND (Signal) 7 4 RXD 3 5 DSR 6 That should work... In fact, I made one for a friend of mine with a //c, but he hasn't had a chance to test it out, but I am pretty confident that it will work. Incidentally, the Imagewriter cable seems to have the exact same connections, so you may be able to save some time and labour and pick up an Imagewriter cable instead... Anyway, good luck. --Tak ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- UUCP: {utzoo, decvax, ihnp4, cbosgd, utcsri, mnetor}!utcs!utcdfc!cssu Othernets: cssu%cdfc.toronto.edu@csnet-relay.arpa cssu@utcdfc.utcs.uucp University of Toronto -- Toronto, Canada -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
