CHILDREN OF THE CORN was supposed to open on 9 March (I even saw tv ads to that effect), but it failed to open then. According to mail I got from a fellow King fan on the net, it's been rescheduled for April 27 (2 weeks before FIRESTARTER). I agree that in general, the movies based on King material have been fairly lackluster. CARRIE was the best (even better than the book, which I thought rather mediocre); THE SHINING was very good/scary, but a poor adaptation of the novel; CUJO and CHRISTINE, while not as rich as the books, were reason- ably good; 'SALEM'S LOT and THE DEAD ZONE was poor; CREEPSHOW had its moments. I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if CHILDREN OF THE CORN turns out decent- ly (but then, I never expected that I'd like CUJO). FIRESTARTER I'm really look- ing forward to. --- jayembee (Jerry Boyajian, DEC Maynard) UUCP: (decvax!decwrl!rhea!akov68!boyajian) ARPA: (decwrl!rhea!akov68!boyajian@Shasta)

[] I have it fron Very Reliable Sources that the rights to this story were bought a Long Time Ago, and Steve King had no say about anything when it finally went to film. --- Small aside -- the movie "Knightriders" recently went the rounds on cable here again. Anybody else recognise the Stroh's drinking lout in one of the early motorcycle fight scenes? --- Small aside II (the sequel) -- Any news on Creepshow II, or whatever they are going to call it? -- ~bj Plus Five Computer Services ...!ihnp4!plus5!bob 765 Westwood Dr. St. Louis, MO 63105 314-725-9492 [ Copyright 1984 Bob Simpson ] _________________________________________________________________________ | All opinions expressed in this article should be | | considered the opinion of the author and not necessarily the | | views of Plus Five Computer Services or its employees. | _________________________________________________________________________
