Has anyone used VIP Professional (either the //e,//c version or the IIGS version)? I'm looking at purchasing it, but would like to hear comments other than AE's advertisements. Thanks. Mark

> Has anyone used VIP Professional (either the //e,//c version > or the IIGS version)? I'm looking at purchasing it, but would I've seen it on the //e. It takes a long time to load because of the bank switching it is faster than Appleworks and have the power of the mouse interface. The company that makes it says that the 16 bit version for the //gs is 5 times faster than the //e version. The //e version uses 6502 code bank switched (it requires 256K that's why you see Applied Engineering ads for it, they sell ram cards) whereas the //gs version uses 16 bit 65816 code, plus the //gs runs 2.5 times faster than the //e in terms of the clock rate. It is supposedly completely Lotus 123 version 1A compatible (not a very good standard but a de facto standard nontheless). Rick Fincher ranger@ecsvax
