[net.movies] 2010/Tony Banks

Tony Banks is the keyboard player and chief songwriter of the british
rock group Genesis, for those who did not know.

He is extremely talented, so do not expect the music to be a flaw
in the film. He also did the soundtrack to the film "The Wicked Lady".

I myself am looking forward to both the movie and soundtrack of "2010".

Until next time....

Actually, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford are probably doing most of
current Genesis songwriting. Tony Banks is part of a dying breed---
flashy progressive rock keyboardists. Banks, however, has never been
known to be excessively flashy, nor has he been known to be especially
innovative (witness his solo work). He was deathly afraid of using
a synthesizer up until only a few years ago, not exactly a useful trait
in a keyboardist/composer. I don't really expect much from his 2010 score.
