Datamac is no longer in business, I think. They went out about the time First Class Peripherials came bounding into the picture with their cheap (in all respects) 10mb drive. I got my 10mb Datamac for $795 and a 30mb Datamac for $1195 about a year before the $695 Sider hit the marketplace. At the time, it was a helluva deal, and was the only drive besides Apple's ProFile that would support ProDOS, as well as DOS 3.3, Pascal, and CP/M. Datamac worked closely with Xebec on this product, and so it is fully compatible with software for the Sider. In fact, I'm using the latest SiderWare with my drives. Don't be put out about Datamac being out of business. The drive, besides being very professional in design, is extremely well built, runs cool and quiet, and has better performance ratings than the Sider (as well as a better mean-time failure rating). I've been running my 10mb for almost three years 24 hours a day on a message system, no problems at all.
