I would like to get some advice on whether to upgrade to Appleworks 2.0. The main reason I am considering this, is to get the mailmerge feature. I have version 1.02 now, running on a //e. The other alternative is to buy Spellworks. This package has mailmerge as well as a spelling checker (with 80,000 words). If anyone knows the details of the Appleworks upgrade: what exactly are the new features, what exactly are the known bugs? or of Spellworks, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. Summary:We haven't seen the bugs, while the advantages are clear. Sender:B.P. In all cases, SuperMacroWorks was used to add macro, mouse, etc., while AE 2.0 expander was used for the //e with more than 128k (512k in one case, 1 meg in another) in combination with SuperMacroWorks. We are very pleased with 2.0. The new spreadsheet functions are very useful. The AE modification loads all of 2.0 into RAM, while the AE ProDrive software allows control of partition between desktop and RAMdisk. If you are a legitimate owner of <2.0 AppleWorks, $50 will get you 2.0. The manual is excellent. SuperMacroWorks is an improvement over MacroWorks (which was pretty good, as was AppleWorks v1.2). Bugs have been listed in this bboard. Bruce P. Halpern halp@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu halp@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu D57J@CORNELLA.BITNET D57J@CRNLVAX.BITNET
