Hi Everybody..... A friend of mine has a programming problem and maybe someone has some ideas on how to solve the problem. The problem is as follows: He has a student tutorial program that must use a random access file quite often, to speed up the process of reading the file from the 5 1/4 floppy, he would like to load the file from the floppy into a ramdisk located in slot 3, since he could then access the file very fast from ram. Does anyone know of a way to have ProDos copy a file from one disk to another, while still under the control of basic? Any information that you may have will be appreciated. You can add commands to ProDOS BASIC.SYSTEM. One such command is the copy command. I use it to copy files to the ram disk, or anytime I don't want to run the filer. About 2 months ago, Nibble magazine had the source code for the copy command. You can also find a public domain version of it on GEnie. No doubt it is also available on Compuserve and other systems. If you simply cannot get it that way, let me know and I'll post it to the net here. -- Mike A. Combs ^--The "A" is for: "Accidently erased the files".
