I have serious problems resulting in a damaged directory on my Appleworks datadisk. After I have loaded and modified an AW file and I try to save that file on disk, I get the message: "Can't write on disk at Ext. disk //c". AW puts a file on that disk named: "AppleWorks.TEMP" Deleting this file blows up the system and I've to reboot. When I want to list all the files on that disk I get the message: "Getting errors trying to read directory at Ext. disk //c". I've tried several disks with many times the same result. The only solution I know is: format that disk again and copy all files from the backup disk. I get bored to do this so often! Is there anybody who has the same problems or someone who could give me the right solution? I use Appleworks 1.3 installed with Pinpoint. My external disk is not from Apple but from Taiwan.

I.ve noticed the same phenomona(sp?) with my IIc and Mitac ext disk with Appleworks 1.2 and 2.0, It hasn't happened often, and sometimes re-booting AWX will cure the problem... I wish I could offer mor help, but I'm looking for a solution too...
