A friend needs a simple database program to keep track of her record collection. She has about 1000 +/- albums, and would need to keep track of about six fields. The most complicated task the program will need to perform is sorting on two or three fields. She is using a 64K Apple ][+; hardware = vanilla LQP & parallel card, Videx Videoterm, one Disk ][. (I'd write one in Applesoft, but it's tough to write & debug a program without having the computer in front of you... :-) Any and all recommendations are appreciated. Thanks... There are several databases in the public domain, check with your local users group. Profiler is a good disk based data base for the hardware you describe. You may have trouble getting 1000 records on a disk, though, with the 5.25 inch drives. You would have to limit the record to 100- 120 characters per record to make it all fit. Profiler is from PM Software, Programs Plus has it listed for $52. It has the capabilities of PFS File and PFS Report in one program. Rick Fincher ranger@ecsvax
