My almost five year old has outgrown early games and the Sticky Bear Alphabet and Shapes. He's starting to learn to read. Are there any recommendation for good software I might purchase for him either for early readers or other categories of software? Has anyone used Facemaker? Thanks for any help. My daughter used and enjoyed FACE MAKER from about the age 2.5 to 4.5 but I'm not sure a five year old would enjoy it too long. It is basically a computerized Mr Potato Head. You build faces from a small inventory of parts (about 6-10 each of hair, mouth, eyes, noses, and ears). Then you can make certain parts move (like the tongue stick out or the mouth smile) but thats about it. Its nice but maybe too simple for long with a 5+ child. -- Terry L Anderson AT&T Bell Laboratories -- Liberty Corners UUCP: ...!ihnp4!kaiser!tla TeleMail: Terry.Anderson (201) 580-4428

In response to the educational software inquiry (beginning reading level): Stickeybear Reading is very good software for beginning reading. Easy to work (for a 4+ year old), excellent graphics, and the "Build A Sentence" portion allows child to put parts of a sentence together (very easily) and then have that sentence acted out for him/her (example: child uses keyboard, joystick, or mouse to put together: "The skunk" & "dances with" & "the cow" -- and then comes funny cartoon of skunk dancing with cow). Same excellent quality as Stickeybear Numbers. Mark Blumenthal ihnp4!ihlpg!markb
