The WordPerfect corporation honestly seems to be trying to help. Got two phone calls today in response to the letter I wrote about a week ago. In short: a) there were some bugs in early releases that sounded like the problems I was having -- these were not fixed until release F (of version 1.1). (go to the "extra" function and hit ctrl-shft-hyphen to display a hidden screen that tells you what release you have, even when it was compiled.) (mine is release E -- must have been sitting on the shelves awhile.) b) there will be a new version (1.2) perhaps as soon as June, maybe not until July. It will have most of the features of the IBM version, the Install program, and may have mouse support (the "may" is because the marketing person said it would but I forgot to raise the point with the technical person who really knew what was going on) . They acknowledged that the current release was just a quick IIc/IIe knock-off to get a product that made some use of the GS features; the future ones will be "real" GS versions. The marketing person even said something about it really taking advantage of the GS graphics capabilities; I didn't bother to press him for what that meant. I was promised an update as soon as my registration card gets processed, and also, given that the purchase was fairly recent, that the update to 1.2 would be free.
