In January, I believe, I inquired about the possibility/advisability of swapping my 6502 in my 64K ][+ for a 65C02. Given the low price of the 65C02, I decided to settle the question in my own mind: I swapped 'em. The result... chaos! While I got some intelligence, none of my software from my 3.3 master to Prodos, to Softerm II, would run. All sort of booted but either displayed garbage, dumped me in the monitor, or otherwise aborted. In the absence of other information, my conclusion is, the swap doesn't work. You evidently have a //+ with the timing problem. I doesn't show up in the 6502 because i performs above spec (as I understand theproblem). I've heard hat the Rockwell versionf the 65C02 performs well on the //+ because i performsabove specs. You might want to get one of these chips rather than the NCR or GTE versions.
