(remember me? I asked for good sources for 65802s?)

Well, I got one from Jameco Electronics for $29.95, opened the lid of my
'81 ][+, pulled enough cards to get at the 6502, yanked the 6502 out,
dropped the 65802 in and Lo And Behold -- unless I deliberately throw it
into "native" mode, **I CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE** This is *real* *good*.

However, when I kick it into native mode (as opposed to 6502 "emulation" mode,
which is the best "emulation" of anything I've ever used :) ..) I have
access to a fairly powerful 16-cylinder processor, just like the big boys have
now.

The specs. say that when it's in "emulation" mode, it's a 65C02C, which (I
guess) means that it has things like BRA. (Look, Ma! No ProDOS fix!)

Now, I'm a pretty well entrenched 6502 programmer, but 65802 (and '816 when I
get my you-know-what!) was easy to learn, and easy to use. I have some sample
programs (pretty graphics) I wrote in '802, and if anyone wants them, just drop
me a line. (Also have 6502 versions for comparison...)

No, it doesn't run normal software any faster. It runs old stuff *the same*
as it used to be. Wouldn't you get upset if you had to re-write RWTS with all
those tricky, TRICKY little timing loops because your new machine wasn't JUST
LIKE your old one? :)
