SJONES@UMASS.BITNET.UUCP (05/07/87)
Some one mentioned to me not too long ago that there was a patch published in a Spring '85 issue (meaning 'tween Feb and July) of Computer Shopper that fixed AppleWriter // such that it didn't count control codes (i.e. super and subscripts, italics, and other command strings for the printer) when figuring out where to wrap the line while printing. Unfortunately, No one around these parts seems to have any issues of CS that old, and of course no one has a copy of the patch. I'm hoping that someone on the Net who keeps all their backissues will read this and perhaps feel inclined to mail me a photocopy, or post it here, or at least tell me which particular issue it's in. I'd really appreciate it, tho I understand that undying gratitude doesn't go for much these days on the open market.
