[net.movies] From novel to

"Love Story" followed the book almost line for line and scene for scene.
The only thing it was missing was the narration going on inside Oliver
Barrett's head, and that didn't hurt it too much. Good book, and good
movie.

I saw "Sharky's Machine", and then read the book, and overall, they did
a pretty good job of making a movie out of it. Burt Reynold's did a
good job of directing, but there were two or three scenes that really
flopped. Overall though, he did pretty well (his directorial debut, no?).
It was especially neat seeing all those local scenes and personalities
in the movie (e.g. the TV news people were real TV newspeople).
