It sounds like the program you are looking for is Apple Access II (VT100 which it calls "ANSI" and Xmodem which is the same thing as the Christiansen protocol and it's inexpensive -- list is $75 but dealers around here sell it for $50). It is in ProDOS and and has a macro language (pretty limited, but it can be made to do some things) Main limitations: requires //e (unenhanced is ok) or //c (new version supports the IIgs) and a real Super Serial Card (at least it won't work with clones that don't have a close SSC clone ROM) in slot 2. Supports up to 9600 baud. Also SOFTERM 2 (see other INFO-APPLE note). Works with practically any Apple 2 hardware, has excellent macro language, does much more than Apple Access or AE Pro, BUT costs $195. Best choice may to be send a note to Jim Hayes (DCOM which is shareware) asking that he PLEASE hurry up and add Xmodem and Kermit to his VT100 emulation program (he says the next version will be ProDOS). Can you wait a couple of months?
