I've been having some problems with my printer on some GS programs. I'm using an Epson LX-80 with a Grappler (unbuffered) in slot 1 of my GS (upgraded //e). It does work at both speeds with all the programs that I used with the //e, such as print shop and magic window II. But apple Access and Electronic Arts' music construction set both completely fail to talk to my printer. I know that access requires the modem to be connected to the back port on the gs in order to work. Could it be that these programs are looking for a serial printer in the external ports? Any help will be appreciated. May an Ogre Mk V not roll through your home, Bill Dickson DICKSON@HARTFORD.BITNET

Worse than that, The Music Studio refused to work at all until I disabled the Grappler+ I had in slot 1. I think MCS only supports the ImageWriter II, and since this seems to be the trend for IIGS-specific software you should consider switching to an ImageWriter II on the built-in serial port (I did this because I got tired of hassles).
