To Stephen of ucbvax-land: I have seen miracles worked in languages where it was claimed that it was "not possible" for that language to do it. I've seen superb AI programs in BASIC and Lisp programs that had no intelligence, artificial or otherwise. My question is, when you ask whether it is easier to do something in one language or another, do you really mean "does it take less time to type it in"? In the world of compulsive programmers, a "bad language" is one which requires three lines of typing to one line in a "good" language. As the Burger King commercials remind us --- these are fast times. John Perry
