I've been wondering about the Applied Engineering MS-DOS card, has anyone used it yet or have anything to say about it. I relize that in order to use the card I'd have to purchase a IBM diskdrive as well, is there any other costly items which I'd have to buy? I am in need of a modem. Theone I usenow is on loan from work and I wouldn't want to hang on to it too long or else someone might think I've taken it for good. I was looking into the Courier 9600, basically because it was priced rather low. If anyone has a modem for sale could you drop me a line? I don't care about the baud rate as long as it is atleast 1200 baud. 9600 sounds fun, since we don't get special phone rates here in Maine. Any reconmendations or tips would be greatly appreciated. Is there anyone out there who could give me simple step-by-step instructions on how to make and use a shape table? I've been working on several programs and a bit of graphics would make for better asthetic qualities. The programs are in Basic, just to keep them simple. One program I'm working on strings a sequence of files together to produce a simple form. The file structure runs one file which calls another and so on, each being pulled into memory, run, and then cleared. The files all write to a single text file. For this reason I need to know how to Append to a text file, if I had an Apple manual I look it up, but alast they have been packed away. If anyone has a better way of accomplishing the task without having so many files let me know. Due to the size of the files and the amounof memory it zaps up upon execution, I thought this to be a way to accomplish the task. Just a few last questions that can be answered by a yes or no: Can a mouse be used on an unenhanced ][e? Also, is there anyway of having more than seven cards (eight including the expansion slot) plugged in at one time? (Possibly some sort of slot expander or expansion box??) Thanks in advance for any information. Douglas Howell Xc60039 at Portland USnail: Box 132 Hulls Cove, Maine 04644

Specific subject: Mouse on unenhanced ][e. A mouse on a ][e requires an AppleMouse card plugged into an expansion slot (and slot other than 0 or 3). Doesn't matter whether it's enhanced or not. The very same card will allow a mouse on a ][ or ][+. halp@CRNLTHRY.BITNET D57J@CORNELLA.BITNET halp@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu
