Indeed the Prodos limit for volumes is 32 megabytes. However, if you are running Prodos-16 on a IIgs, there is now *NO* effective limit on volume size, hence, you could theorectically buy the Apple 80 meg SCSI external drive and use it as one continuous volume. For older Prodos users, partitioning and access to those partitions involves the separation of the hard disk volume into smaller seperate volumes, all less than 32 megabytes. You don't access these volumes via slot and drive designations, but by different volume names, all under the same slot. There is also supposidly a way to use one large SCSI drive, and partition it between a Mac and Apple ][ volume, defined by Apple. But I'm not sure on the specifics of this. .
