I purchased a Street Electronics Cricket //c a few months ago, and managed to make it play music, tell time, chime, etc without the Cricket master program from 6502 programming. Since most of what I'm learning, encountering, etc is *not* 6502, but high-level, like Pascal, I'd like to be able to make Apple Pascal 1.3 and the Cricket work together. I don't think it's feasible to make the Cricket talk (that still requires the Cricket master program, which is on Prodos), but I think it should be able to at least play music, chime, access the clock, etc. I've tried to use remin/remout, but the Pascal manual is very vague concerning using the modem port (except for referring to buying another item, the System.Attach program). Does anyone out there know of a way to access the Cricket, or any device hooked to a //c through the modem port? I mean besides "poking" and "peeking" the the ACIA chip. I've managed to produce music from the Cricket by this method, but I thought maybe there was something faster/efficient than emulating BASIC in Pascal. Thanks. -- Roger R.
