This is my first posting to the net. I just recently got a IIgs which I'd like to use Kermit on. My problem is that I have a CCS 7711 serial card which is not on the list of supported drivers. I have tried all five (including the 7710 one) with no luck. The best possibility thus far has been to use the Microtek driver which allows me to speak to the modem without freezing up. But, when I issue a ATDT command, the modem dials, and the computer itself stops beeping continuously. The modem does not connect from that point on. My card is set to use internal driver #1 (out of 7). Kermit works on many other II computers on campus, so I have to believe that it is the combination of the 7711 and the GS, since the card worked previously when it was in my II+. Several other comm programs do the same thing now including a locally written one, and DCOM. The only program that will function is Ascii Express. But, I need Kermit. All tips, or help, will be greatly appreciated. Todd A. Bakal U of Michigan Apple User's Group Ann Arbor, MI Todd_A._Bakal@ub.cc.umich.edu
