Does anyone know of a slot expander for an Apple //e? What I need is something that will hold two cards that you can switch between depending on what is required for a particular application. (In my case it would be to be able to switch between my Microsoft Softcard //e and my Apple //e 80 column card. Most of the time the Softcard works fine, but I have some applications which require the double hi-res graphics capability of the 80 column card and it's a pain having to open up my Apple and swap cards just to run a particular program.) What I have in mind is a box with two (or more?) slots in it that you can switch between. The switch would make the connection between the slot and a ribbon cable which would run from the box and have a slot connector on the other end to plug into the slot in the Apple. I realize this could be a dangerous thing if someone were dumb enough to switch between boards while powered up, but let's hope no one is that dumb. Does anyone know if such a device is available, and if so, who sells it? If not, does anyone know if someone like this could be easily "homemade" or would it require some complex circuitry that would be beyond the capability of a "non-expert"? Thanks in advance for any help, Ray Rankins@Dockmaster.arpa
