I don't know how the @ symbols got there, but Apple Writer (and at least one
other word processor, Super-Text) uses HEX 00 (may display as @ symbol) as an
end-of-file marker.  Write-Away is another word processor that CAN read in a
file with HEX 00s.  You could use the Copy II Plus sector editor to find and
change the HEX 00s to something else: spaces (HEX 20) or CRs (HEX 0D).  The
Copy II Plus version 5.5 sector editor is more useful than the one in later
versions, but they should work too.  Will version 5.5 run on a GS?
