I've had the darndest time figuring out how to route mail to pro-sol from bitnet. So far everything comes back "undelivered mail -- host unknown." I did get some advice from info-nets@oz.ai.mit.edu which may work (how one figures out that the message should route via uxc.cso.uiuc.edu from the routing on the messages I receive is beyond my). I noticed your comment about the Robotics 212A. Although it's an obsolete model, there probably are used ones for sale at flea markets. I've had one for two years going on three that's never given me a minutes trouble. I rarely use it for other than local calls, but it hasn't seemed to behave any differently than the real Hayes Smartmodem 1200 I have at home. Recently, my department bought a Robotics Courier 2400 which I've been using. That is, as you said, a VERY NICE modem.

Long live the Courier! Yea, I have a Courier 2400, too. Problem is that I bought it when it first came out. Have there been any upgrades? If so, are they free? How does one get them? Please reply via e-mail instead of the net. Thank you. -- Mike Kao UUCP: {cbosgd, hplabs!hp-sdd, sdcsvax, nosc}!crash!pnet01!mkao ARPA: crash!pnet01!mkao@nosc.mil INET: mkao@pnet01.CTS.COM

Hey! Your letter made it here! On my screen, the header shows: To: MDAVIS%PRO-SOL.CTS.COM@UXC.CSO.UIUC.EDU That may or may not be what you originally typed, as some mailers have the disgusting habit of modifying the To: field. Now that you know that it works, you should be able to reach a few of the luminaries here (Randy Brandt, Don Elton, Dale Therio, Alan Bird, Bruce Webster, Ken Kashmarek, Dan Gookin, etc.) UUCP: [ ihnp4 cbosgd hplabs!hp-sdd sdcsvax nosc ] !crash!pnet01!pro-sol!mdavis ARPA: crash!pnet01!pro-sol!mdavis@nosc.mil INET: mdavis@pro-sol.CTS.COM
