A recent article asked us to "vote" for the character we would
like to see as the lead in character for to replace the period "."
on EXECUTIONER files ("+" was given as a possibility). I have two
questions:
1. Why not use a character that cannot ever cause a problem? I have
in mind one of the characters "A-Z" OR "A-Z" If you use any of
the other printing symbols on the keyboard there is bound to
some formatting program somewhere that will use it as a signal
to dive into a hole.
2. Why not ask Glen Bredon? He must of had a reason for choosing the
period, a character that has widespread use in text formatting
programs as a lead in character and was sure to cause trouble.
(While you are at it, ask him why he chooses names that are
sheer hell to spell i.e. EXECUTIONER, SOURCEROR)
