I got a second copy of one of the messages today. It was different from the first in that it seemed to come from a BITnet listserver. I sent some commands and sure enough, the listserv at NDSUVM1 redistributes INFO-APPLE. Now for a question: Should those of us on BITnet subscribe through the listserv in order to cut down on traffic between ARPAnet and BITnet? If so, why wasn't the fact that we had a listserv published? Thanks, Steve

Disclaimer: I am a lowly student, and do not represent NDSU nor the NDHECN in any way other than in my role as a student at NDSU. I don't know why people weren't informed. I noticed the comp.sys.apple in our listserv as soon as it came up. At the time I was subscribed to Info-Apple. I was getting the same things from both sources usually, and sometimes more from listserv than in the mailings from Info-Apple. So, . . . I just un-subscribed to Info-Apple. I find myself wondering after reading the posting from someone else who just 'found' comp.sys.apple on listserv, how many people on bitnet use listserv and how many get mail from Info-Apple? This is sort of an informal survey. Please reply via e-mail if you are a bitnet user reading this message. take care, -Bri ________________________________________________________________________ Brian Dall | |"It is dangerous to tell PO Box 5112 | NU092254@NDSUVM1.BITNET | the people that laws are NDSU Station | | not just. . . ."
