Dear Apple, I'm writing from Israel and hope to inlighten Apple on certain issues of their marketing here. I would like to start with a computer exhibition which I went to see in the end of May, it was at the Hilton and was considered the largest exhibition held here in Israel this year. I knew about the Apple //GS, Macintosh SE and Macintosh // from this newsgroup and was sure Apple would use this exhibition to unvale it's relatively new products. So I got there and started walking around. Of course the place was full of IBM PC lookalikes and such I continued and had a close look at the line of IBM PS/2 and their line of accessories which were quite impressive I met the Amigas and Sts and oh yes there were some Macs there too yes Macintosh Pluses beeing sold by some dealer as desk-publishing machines. No new Macs no apple //gs and not even the old //cs or //es. Now there were a lot of business men there and just simple people like me who might have been persuaded to buy an apple machine but how could they, Apple wasn't even there. And it doesn't stop here I picked up the May issue of this University's Micro newsletter and what did I see I saw that while the whole issue was full of information about the IBM PS/2 (the part of it that was not about the PC) and also claimed that the University would be testing the PS/2 models and commodore was intoducing it's A2000 a local Apple dealer was bringing the Mac Plus in to show what it could do. Since this is info-apple I'd like to say something about the //gs, from what I hear about it in this newsgroup it sounds like a very nice machine and a good replacement for the //e,//c and I think people here in Israel would buy them only apple isn't letting them. I had a look at the paper a few days ago and saw that half of the used computer column is full of Apple's for sale, just what computers does apple think the people who are selling their old //s are buying. Finally if anyone from Apple is listening could they tell me when the new products get here and please keep them cheap.
