COMPUHELP-ON-DISK

The National Association of Blind and Visually Impaired Computer Users
(NABVICU) sponsers a database bulletin board system for the blind and
visually impaired and other interested persons. The information on the
BBS ranges from Self-Help Groups, software sources, hardware sources,
information on other databases, voice output devices, LARGE print
programs and more. It also includes electronic mail, "Talking"
programs and an information exchange. Though the BBS has been
programmed for use by a blind or visually impaired person, family
members, friends or representatives of a blind or visually impaired
person are encouraged to call and make use of the system. The ultimate
goal is to aid the blind or visually impaired person in utilizing
computers, become more knowledgeable about computers and to keep pace
with new advances in the world of computers.

Realizing that not all people have access to a modem, the NABVICU has
made available CompuHelp-On-Disk. The same information found on the
BBS is on the disk with the exception of electronic mail.
CompuHelp-On-Disk can be read on the screen, with voice output (Echo
required) or sent to the printer. At this time it is only available
for the Apple computer. Editions for other computers and other
improvements are in the works. A ten dollar ($10.00) donation is
requested to help cover costs. The address for ordering or requesting
more information is:
