[comp.sys.apple] REVIEW OF SAT PREPARATION SOFTWARE

halp@TCGOULD.TN.CORNELL.EDU ("Bruce P. Halpern") (08/18/87)

Some time ago information was requested on this BB concerning software designed
for preparation for the SAT (the College Entrance Examination Board's [CEEB]
Scholastic Aptitude Test), which is often taken as part of the application
process for American colleges. A detailed review of six programs has just been
published . It is in: MATHEMATICS TEACHER, 80 (6), September, 1987, pp.440-454.
The authors are John G. Harvey and John W. Kenelly.

"S.A.T. Preparatory Course", published by the Owlcat Division of Digital
Research Corp. in 1983, was categorized as acceptable, although not without
faults. Its list price is apparently $250. 128K of Apple ][ memory is required.

****DISCLAMER: My comments, etc., are my own shakey opinions ********
