Recently, the mailing list file (Appleworks Data Base -- ADB) of our furniture store crashed. Our AppleWorks version is 2.0, enhanced by Applied Engineering's RAM enhancement utility. Anyways, the ADB file is segmented into 2 parts: 135K and 18K total. The problem is that when I try to load this file, AppleWorks doesn't know when the segmented file ends. After loading the 135K segment, it prompts me for the next segment. Very well, I flip the disk to the 18K part; AppleWorks seems to be reading it fine, THEN it prompts me for yet another segment, even though that was the last and final one. I proceeded to check out the directory of the 18K file and found out that the rest of the 117K was filled up by another file. My hypothesis is that the 18K segment should have been bigger, but AppleWorks ran out of space and somehow quit. What I need to know is how the Data Base structures these ADB files. What must I do to manually patch up this file? If my hypothesis is correct, then the file was never ended properly and somehow indicates to AppleWorks upon loading that there should be another segment. Please help!! To insure my reception of any replies, please respond via e-mail.
