To Dave Whitney: I wrote a utility that will convert AppleWorks AWP files to TXT (text) files for the exact reason you mentioned: using AppleWorks to edit source code files. The program is called AWP2TXT and it runs as an extended command under the ECP shell system (ECP by Don Elton). I think Don is distributing this utility with his package -- and if not, he has my permission to do so. Two other related utilities I've written for ECP, too: One, called EXPAND, will read text files which contain tabs and expand the tabs out to the correct number of spaces, writing the output to standard-out (stdout). The second, called UNEXPAND, will read text files with gobs of spaces (ala APW text files) and will convert them to the appropriate number of tabs. --Morgan Davis UUCP: [ ihnp4 cbosgd hplabs!hp-sdd sdcsvax nosc ] !crash!pnet01!pro-sol!mdavis ARPA: crash!pnet01!pro-sol!mdavis@nosc.mil INET: mdavis@pro-sol.CTS.COM BITNET: mdavis%pro-sol.cts.com@ucbvax.berkeley.edu
