Chris - I would hope that LISTSERV is smart enough to answer a file request that comes by mail from another network with a mail response. The default format is IBM NETDATA which even some bitnet sites can't unpack. However, the LISTSERV documentation you posted does indicate a couple of command forms that request a specific format. Anyone who receives a file from a bitnet LISTSERV in a "peculiar" format should try: GETPP filename filetype (as in mail to LISTSERV@BROWNVM.bitnet containing the message: GETPP APPLE2-L 87-00028 the "GETPP" specifically requests a file in PUNCH <card image> format). The file I got wasn't returned in a mail "envelope" (I hope that's because the server recognized my request as from a bitnet site... it's going to be a drag if users of other nets can subscribe to the list but can't retrieve back files). --------------------- ARPA: sewall%uconnvm.bitnet@wiscvm.wisc.edu Murphy A. Could someone who has used the Apple Listserv program from uucp please post us any notes, the appropriate uucp pathname, etc? Anything needed so that we too can access this library. Also, does anyone have a short review of what is there>? I have the msg earlier this week which gave 3-5 word descriptions; I am more interested in specifics - GS CDA just doesn't tell me a lot. -- Larry W.
