I recently bought a "Maple" brand external drive for my Apple IIc. However, upon trying it out, the drive runs continuously and I'm unable to boot any disk, either on the Maple or the Apple's internal drive. I took the Maple unit back for exchange, and the new one works no better. In every other respect the IIc works fine, and has for two years. Is my computer bad? Is there some special trickery to hooking up an "off-brand" drive? The unit is sold as being compatible with the Apple IIc. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who can help with the problem. Thanks.
