[comp.sys.apple] Chill Out..

craparotta@kyoa.DEC.COM (Joe Crap) (09/16/87)

Boy all this stuff over an Apple Compatible!!. Since I now have a GS and have
had BOTH the //+ and the Franklin.. I'd go with the Franklin.. It is a MUCH
improved //+ thats all and designed like apple should've. Also I'd like to statethat APPLIED ENGINEERING pulls this sort of stuff all the time. They make some
nice stuff but Come on people... Since the DMA problem has come to light on the
GS RAM ans some other bds they want YOU the customer to now pay fro there mistake!! *FLAME ON* BULL&*(^!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They made the error and I DON'T care
what they or anybody else says. They're design doesn't work right and they should fix it. They've also done this before on other options. *FLAME OFF*
Well in any case Franklin is a nice machine.. Maybe everyone is mad because they
payed to much for thiers...

PS: The above views are mine and not my employers. They never listen to me any-
way... And the GS IS A GREAT MACHINE. Let's see if APPLE supports it the way
they do the MAC.. The // line MADE APPLE.. Now start supporting it. U never
really did before.....

Excuse Me, but if Applied Engineering made the mistake then how do you explain
the FACT the the Orange Micro card _AND_ the MDIdeas card
_HAVE_THE_SAME_PROBLEM! When you start throwing blame arpund you had better
state all the facts, not just the 'facts' that support your misguided opinion.
ALL of the Ram cards for the IIgs that go over 1 Meg have the same "problem",
How do you explain that? Could it be that all of the information was not
given to hardware developers (all of these ram cards were submitted to Apple
_B_E_F_O_R_E_ the IIgs was released. _ALL_ of these memory cards were given
the go ahead _B_E_F_O_R_E_ the IIgs was released. So please stop throwing
blame around without knowing the facts. btw, I notice that people like to
continue to throw blame but don't want to post a work-around for the problem
(typical isn't it). In order to work with the AST Visionplus card (the only
card that has this problem) you need to have 4 rows of chips instaled on the
board, and you need to have any ram above 4 rows assigned to the RAMdisk.
Now see how much easier and more heplfuf this info is than the content of your
message.
