[comp.sys.apple] Mis-sent message

SEWALL@UCONNVM.BITNET (09/29/87)

I'm not quite sure what you did to get this file delivered by my
local bitnet server, but it's evidently intended for info-apple.
Did you perhaps use SENDFILE to INFO-APP at NDSUVM1? That's not
achieving what you want. SENDFILE (and NOTE too, alas) only works
on bitnet and most of info-apple is on other networks.

You want to use your MAILER (also known is "Rice mail", the "Yale
mailer system", or some such depending on what is installed at your
place) and send MAIL to info-apple@brl.arpa (yes, you have to use
the '@' sign -- which requires: CP TERM CHARDEL OFF).

I've tacked your original message onto this mail so it'll get
delivered to the info-apple list (I wish I knew the answer to your
question, but I don't have a DMP, I'm sure someone will be able to
help you out).

Could anyone send me a description of the DIP switches for one of those
ancient Apple DMPs (Dot Matrix Printer) that I have just acquired,
unfortunately without any documentation ? (it was a great bargain).

Could anyone confirm the following bug or feature:

When soft-switching to a foreign character set using the escape sequences,
I get double line spacing. At this point, the line spacing escape sequence
doesn't work anymore so there isn't any way to reset line spacing to 1.
Any clues ?

Have a thought for the guys with 300 bauds modems when you send mail with 80
percent of quoting and your personal 10 line logo.
