OOPS!!! For all of you (about 6 I think) that sent an INDEX command to APPLE2-L@BROWNVM over the weekend; sorry, but you won't get the filelist that way. Please read instructions closely as computers practice what management professors refer to as "malicious obedience." That is, they do exactly what you ask for even when it's close, but wrong. Send the commands INDEX and GET to LISTSERV@BROWNVM (see it REALLY IS a different address!!!! <Is there an echo in here???>) If you want to post a program for readers of the ENTIRE list you send THAT to APPLE2-L@BROWNVM Apologies to those of you who've been sending requests and files to the correct addresses since last Summer. Someone recently suggested posting these directions on info-apple weekly. Actually, I think the number of mistaken messages have led to postings at about that rate for about 2 months now. It doesn't seem to do much good. I'm really puzzled that a bunch of computer hobbiests haven't long since learned that directions need to be read carefully as computers just don't handle "almost correct" very well. --------------------- ARPA: sewall%uconnvm.bitnet@wiscvm.wisc.edu Murphy A.
