If you want to GET files from LISTSERV@BROWNVM (note I did NOT say
APPLE2-L@BROWNVM), please send one command at a time until you know that
you can receive them. If you get the first file you request then
you can request more. If you do not, then please DON'T send any more
requests for files. For some reason, the FROM: line that is generated
from uucp sites are invalid and never get sent to the correct address
which means that the postmaster here gets the rejected mail. Last night
I got about 40 such reject pieces of mail. I don't think my postmaster
was too happy about forwarding them nor was I in checking them. If it
keeps up I have a feeling that they may just shut down this list.
As an alternative to trying to get files yourself you will have to
join the list and receive everything. I know that this is a hassle but
life's tough. Until the gateways fix their FROM: lines to be valid
addresses there is nothing else that can be done.
