Please pardon me, I have never used this mail system before... I purchased an Apple IIgs computer in mid March 1987. It was a "WOZ" limited edition CPU. My question is simple. Do I need an upgrade? The Model Number begins: M5720611.. The Date is stamped: 8705 The revision number says: 01 The Model Number is: 699-0126 I have asked this question to various computer dealers and they all seem rather confused. One Computerland salesman said that I would be notified by mail if my Apple IIgs needed this upgrade, and so far I have recieved no such notification. Yet, I have heard many rumors which seem to indicate that all "WOZ" Apple IIgs computers are in need of the upgrade. Could anyone out there please provide information with regard to which Apple IIgs computers are in need of an Upgrade? Thank you.

Your request for data concerning if your GS requires and upgrade is slightly confusing to me also. Sue Goodwin wrote: "Check the first three numeric characters or the SERIAL number on the bottom of the GS. Units with numbers 704 or lower require both the new VGC abd ROM " " " 705 to 724 (Inclusive) require the ROM only " " " 725 and higher do NOT require any upgrade" Your description of your GS lists 2 model #'s and no serial # please recheck the serial #. eww@oberon.lcs.mit.edu.arpa
