[comp.sys.apple] Basic Compiler for II/e

gunsch@uiucdcsm.cs.uiuc.edu (10/19/87)

Anybody have a copy of a Basic compiler (don't laugh - it's a decent
programming language for my 8-year old to learn on) that runs under
ProDos for the II/e? Interested in selling it?

please mail me a response - I don't fish here often

I have seen three Basic compilers for the Apple: Microsoft's TASC, the
Einstein Compiler, and the Beagle Compiler. The first two run only under DOS
3.3 and aren't too user friendly. Go with the Beagle Compiler.

Einstein speeds up by a factor of 3 or 4 for most stuff.
TASC about the same.

Beagle Compiler speeds up (on average) 40%. (Not great)
It is VERY easy to use.
