A while ago I discovered a hidden feature of Epson FX-80+ dot matrix printers:
While trying to understand what the first (zero) position in SelecType mode
does (the handbook isn't very clear about that but now I know it resets the
other key selectable modes) I triggered a status printout as shown below:
PRINT MODES :
Condensed =0
Enlarged =0
Elite =0
Emphasized =0
Double striked=0
Underlined =0
Superscript =0
Subscript =0
PAGE LENGTH : 12"
SKIP LINE LENGTH : 1"
followed by a form feed. To be more exactly, it happened after checking some
of the other positions and leaving SelecType. But I was unable to do it again
because I'm not sure what I really did. I talked to local dealers and
technicans at Epson Deutschland without any result (they all heard about this
the first time) - maybe someone out there in netland knows something, or maybe
it's just an internal debugging feature caused by a malfunction ?
