I am sending PROPACK to the APPLE2-L LIST. It's a very nice PD
program which compresses a disk into a prodos file. It works on
the entire disk and doesn't care if it's CMP PASCAL, or Dos 3.3,
as well as PRODOS of course. I got it from the LLS board. The new
file is about 2/3 the size of the original. You can store the new
file in a prodos directory or send it xmodem. I have compressed
disks containing several types of files and then "reconstituted"
the packed file onto a blank disk. EXTRA K, the beagle bros compare
program, couldn't tell the new disk from the original.
It's a small program and I've sent it in EXEC form. No unsqueezing
etc required.
