I just finished hooking up a 40M IBM (sorry for the swearing in
mixed company!) AT Hard Disk via the Adaptek SCSI controller to
a homemade (wire wrapped!) SCSI host adapter. As well, I've
whipped up a simple device driver under SOS (close to PRODOS
for you lucky people with modern computers).
If anyone's interested in doing the same, I'd be glad to offer
some advice. It was relatively simple, and cost me less than
$1500 (Canadian).
I'm not sure how that compares to other 40M (28 ms) SCSI
disks on the market pricewise, but it sure was a lot of fun!
